About me, huh? Well, my official bio reads like this: Patti Larsen is an award-winning middle grade and young adult author with a passion for the paranormal. But that sounds so freaking formal, doesn't it? I'm a storyteller who hears teenager's voices so loud I have to write them down. I love the idea of sports even though sports hate me. I've dabbled in everything from improv theater to film making and writing TV shows, singing in an all girl band to running my own hair salon.

But always, always, writing books calls me home.

I've had my sights set on world literary domination for a while now. Which means getting my books out there, to you, my darling readers. It's the coolest thing ever, this job of mine, being able to tell stories I love, only to see them all shiny and happy in your hands... thank you for reading.

As for the rest of it, I'm short (permanent), slightly round (changeable) and blonde (for ever and ever). I love to talk one on one about the deepest topics and can't seem to stop seeing the big picture. I happily live on Prince Edward Island, Canada, home to Anne of Green Gables and the most beautiful red beaches in the world, with my very patient husband and five massive cats.

    Nice to read

It‘s a cozy mystery just like many others. Young single woman, owner of some kind of pet and cupcake/donut/coffee -shop/B&B, betrayed by her ex-partner, meets handsome law enforcement officer and solves a murder. (maybe there is a “how to write a cozy mystery for dummies” out there that states that this is the perfect structure for a cozy mystery). I had one good laugh but that was it. Is it bad?, no, but nothing to write home about.

Actually, I am annoyed with myself for bothering to finish this book. Stick with Young Adult genre because that is what this is. The constant references to canine flatulence are juvenile in the extreme. There is no mystery as to the identity of the murderer, the victim is too one dimensional, the peripheral characters not at all well developed. The main character is written as a spoiled, self serving, irresponsible, arrogant pain in the butt. Complete waste of this adult's time...all 75 minutes of it.

Inheriting her grandmother's B&B was an unexpected blessing for Fee, until a man arrives to claim it. What follows is a tale of trickery and torment, as murder and treachery is uncovered.
I loved this, from the farting dog to the amazing cast of human characters. Funny, tense and exciting.

Clever and funny. Nice little mystery . I grabbed it as a free item and it was more satisfying than a lot of books I've paid for lately worth the read.

Fiona Fleming starts her day with a clogged toilet and a loveable but gassy pug. And then things get even more complicated when the man who claims he owns her grandmother's B&B turns up dead in her koi pond! With a full house, a grumpy sheriff telling her to mind her own, and a pair of housekeepers that seem to hate her, Fiona has her hands full.
Where to start? The dead body? The well-written main character? The interesting cast of conflicting personalities? The Shyamalan-style twist at the end I didn't see coming at all? The cheese-loving, ever-farting pug?
Bed, Breakfast, and Murder was a treat to read after a difficult day. Now, this book had a few errors in its grammar and syntax-wise, but it was nothing story breaking. The author's voice is strong and full of great humor. Both self- and the world in general depreciating, the dialogue was well-flowing and very human. The whodunit aspect wasn't predictable at all, as it seemed there was an endless flow of potential suspects to the untimely demise of a super shady developer.
There was quite a bit of playful humor in Ms. Lawson's writing. And a delightful collection of humanity and flaws in most of her characters. There was a decent representation of bias, assumptions, and secrets being kept. The internal debate Fiona had between loving and bopping her dear bubble-headed friend Daisy is something I think everyone struggles with now and again. As well as the debate as to whether or not a cute butt attached to someone who's a pain in yours? Totally relatable.
While this is the first book in a series, it was a complete story unto itself. As it was written, it was also I am most certainly looking forward to reading the next book or nine in the series.
It will be interesting to see how Malcolm Murray and Fiona's father cross path in future stories.

Un uomo assassinato viene trovato nel giardino di un B&B. Fiona Fleming, la proprietaria, dovrà usare le sue doti di detective per risolvere il mistero e conservare la sua proprietà. Una gradevole lettura con anche spunti comici

Have spent years reading the likes of Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs & PJ Tracey. Have loved them all, but they ended up gaving me nightmares.
Still love detective novels and found this little book purely by accident when looking for something lighter for my holidays. Thoroughly enjoyed it. This is not meant to be disparaging when I saw this, but it took me back to my childhood when I used to read Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, and the Adventure series by Enid Blyton. The last couple of nights, I have felt like a 10 year old me again, way to go Patti, I'm coming back for more of Petunia.
