Ilse Beck is a psychologist who specializes in treating people who suffered severe trauma during a crime, and she is also a victim of abuse. While treating her patients she has flashes of the abuse she suffered in the past and has to work with herself to not let her emotions make wrong decisions. One of her patients is kidnapped by a serial killer who is kidnapping and murdering his victims. She goes to the police with information and gets involved in the hunt for the culprit helping the FBI. The plot has a very interesting turn of events and Ilse has to fight for her life and the patient was not what she seemed to be as well as the killer. The plot is very well put together, there is tension and mystery that builds up as the story grows. Very good start of a new series! I downloaded a free copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

Not Like Us is the first book in the Ilse Beck FBI Suspense Thriller series and is a good start to the series. I enjoyed this thriller. The characters are interesting and the story has danger and suspense. I did find that the end dragged on a little too long. I read and reviewed this book with no obligation. 3.5 stars

The end was completely implosible and grammatical mistakes (i.e., sentence fragments) excessive making this an overly challenging read.
